Turku Asya Ciftci Nusretoglu

It all started when…

Asya graduated from Gazi University, Turkey, in 2020 and completed her Master’s degree in 2023, focusing on reinjury anxiety in athletes. After one year in an elderly care center, she
worked for four years with a women’s volleyball team in Turkey’s Sultanlar League during winter seasons, while treating orthopedic and sports injury patients in an outpatient clinic
during summers.

She completed the Osteosports sports physiotherapy concept training in 2020, which strengthened her skills in clinical assessment, manual therapy, corrective exercise, and
exercise programming. In 2022, she completed the Mulligan Concept™ manual therapy training, focusing on pain-free manual therapy integrated with exercise and patient
education.

With an eight-year background as a competitive volleyball player, Asya uses hands-on manual therapy to prepare the body for exercise, helping patients move pain-free, efficiently,
and with confidence.

Turku Asya Ciftci Nusretoglu
Türkü Asya Çiftçi graduated from Gazi University, Turkey, in 2020 with a degree in
Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation. She completed her Master’s degree in 2023, with her
research focusing on reinjury anxiety in athletes, reflecting her interest in both the physical and psychological aspects of rehabilitation.
Clinical Experience.

Asya began her career working for one year in an elderly care center, where she developed
a strong foundation in functional and patient-centered rehabilitation. Over the following four years, she worked seasonally with a women’s volleyball team competing in Turkey’s
Sultanlar League during the winter seasons, while treating orthopedic and sports injury
patients in an outpatient clinic during the summer months. This experience allowed her to
work with both high-level athletes and the general population.
Treatment Approach.

In 2020, Asya completed the Osteosports sports physiotherapy concept training,
strengthening her expertise in clinical and biomechanical assessment, hands-on manual
therapy, corrective exercises, and structured exercise programming. She later completed the Mulligan Concept™ manual therapy training in 2022, focusing on pain-free manual therapy approaches integrated with exercise and patient education.

Asya emphasizes hands-on manual therapy to prepare the body for exercise, using joint
mobilization to restore mobility and unlock smoother, more efficient movement. Her clinical
toolkit also includes functional massage to release tension and enhance tissue readiness,
cupping therapy to support circulation and tissue mobility, foam rolling techniques to improve flexibility and recovery, and neurodynamic techniques to calm nerve-related symptoms and restore comfortable movement.

With an eight-year background as a competitive volleyball player, Asya blends manual
therapy, exercise-based rehabilitation, and patient education to help patients move
confidently, perform better, and feel safe returning to activity. She also has a special interest in women’s health and pelvic floor rehabilitation, particularly in relation to movement, exercise, and everyday function.

Outside the Clinic
Outside the clinic, Asya enjoys exploring new places, staying active, and following sports.
She loves spending time with her husband, and together they enjoy singing and playing
guitar. Having recently moved to Canada, they’ve made a growing list of places to explore
and are excited to discover their new surroundings one adventure at a time.
